Erasmus in Lyon

Erasmus in Lyon

Erasmus in Lyon

What an amazing 6 months I’ve spent in one of the most spectacular cities in the world. I am such a home bird the longest I’ve been away from Cork was for a 2-week holiday. Leaving was one of the hardest things. I will always remember the cold wet morning when my parents dropped me to the Aircoach but now as my Erasmus is coming to an end I would give anything to be on that bus starting my Erasmus again.

I would recommend anyone going on Erasmus to travel as much as possible.  Since Arriving in Lyon I have been to Dijon, Grenoble, Annecy, Geneva (Switzerland), Paris, Toulouse and I am spending my last week of Erasmus in Nice/Monaco. The price of travel is so cheap with buses just 5 euro to Paris. It has been a dream come through discovering such beautiful cities.

I joined the Gaelic football team in Lyon and it was one of the best things I done. I made some friends for life. Each month there was a tournament in different cities around France and of course a party followed that evening. If you are new to football do not hesitate they make everyone feel welcome and teach you their knowledge of the game.

I encourage everyone to take part in the Erasmus programme. I will always cherish my memories of Lyon for life. It is an opportunity not many people get so go and enjoy it!
