Erasmus Incoming - Module Selection
Erasmus Incoming - Selecting Modules
Step 1: Identify the Course you wish to study while at Munster Technological University. Our list of courses can be found here.
Step 2: Once you've identified the course that links with your home university, please click the modules buttons (see below to see what they look like) to view the modules.

Step 3: You will then be brought to the Course Programme Page, which outlines all available Modules taught throughout the Course. Please note that Erasmus Students must select at least 4 Mandatory modules from the one Course/Year/Semester. As seen by the example below: (Course = Creative Digital Media. 4 modules choosen from Year 2/Semester 1)

Students may only pick one elective module per semester. Generally electives are offered during the same timetable periods. NOTE: the demand for the elective modules is high and we cannot guarantee that you will be able to get the elective module you select. See example below

This helps minimise timetable clashes and allows us to register the student to the course.
Important note: Please take note of when each module is available. Modules listed under Semester 1 are only taught during the Autumn/Winter Semester (September - December), and modules listed under Semester 2 are only taught during the Spring Semester (January - May) Please do not pick modules outside of the time you are with us at MTU
Important note: Undergradute/Bachelor/Level 7/8 Erasmus students are not permitted to select any modules from a Postgraduate/Masters/Level 9 course.
Step 4: As an Erasmus Student, you can select up to 2 modules from other courses (Steps 1 and 2). Please note: these modules are not guaranteed pending spaces available and timetable clashes. It is recommended that you have back up modules agreed on with your home coordinator, in case you are unable to take your first preference modules when you arrive to MTU
Computer Science Department:
- Please note that the Computer Science Department at MTU does not allow students to mix modules across different disciplines and programs, as this can lead to timetable clashes. Students may choose only one free-choice module from another BS program, subject to availability and compatibility with your timetable.
- Undergraduate students are only eligible to apply for BS programs as we currently don't offer Masters modules to undergraduate students.
Please note the following Modules are NOT available to Incoming (Study) Erasmus Students:
- Free Choice Module
- Work Placement Modules
English Language Modules:
To support you with your transition to studying and working through English, we offer a range of credit-bearing English language modules. Each English module carries 5 credits. Any Erasmus student wishing to take an English module should include their chosen English module in their learning agreement prior to arrival where possible.
