Erasmus Experience 2019 - University of Applied Sciences Germany

One of our students tells us about her experience in Fachhochschule Kiel, Germany

Written by Maebh Hayes - Biomedical Engineering Student @ CIT

The weather in Kiel is quite similar to Ireland: cold in the winter but roasting in the summer! There are plenty of sheltered beaches along the fjord and water activities to enjoy when the weather gets warmer. There are fewer music events than Cork but the city still bustles with nightclubs, bars, and restaurants. At the end of June, three million people descend on the city for a boating festival with many events including live music, fireworks, water competitions, and a fairground. I enjoyed my time completing the European Project Semester as I made friends with people from all over the world and I learned so much about different cultures. I explored Kiel and several cities in Europe with the other international students and I can't wait to go traveling and meet some of them again!
