Undergraduate Programmes

 

If you studied in:

Alberta:  A General High School Diploma is generally considered to satisfy the entrance requirements if awarded with an average of at least 65% in five acceptable grade 12 courses.

British Columbia: the Senior Secondary Graduation Diploma is generally considered to satisfy the entrance requirements if awarded with at least five Bs (BBBBB) in acceptable grade 12 courses.

Manitoba: the High School Graduation Diploma is generally considered to satisfy the entrance requirements if five credits have been awarded at 300 level in at least four subject areas and with at least 65% achieved in each of these areas.

Ontario: the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) is required with an average of 80% in six Grade 12 U/M courses. Certain programmes may require Grade 12 U/M courses in specific subjects.

Saskatchewan: the Completion Grade 12 Standing/Division IV Standing (Secondary School Diploma) is generally considered to satisfy the entrance requirements if awarded with an average of at least 65% in five acceptable subjects.

 

Specific subjects may be required for entry into certain courses.

If you have taken exams which are from another country's national education system (such as SAT and AP exams from the USA or A-levels and IB) you should consult the relevant country page for qualification equivalence information.

 

Postgraduate Programmes

 

Bachelor (Honours) Degree from a recognised institute

 

2H2 equivalent: 70% or 2.8/4.0

2H1 equivalent: 77% or 3.3/4.0

1H1 equivalent: 80% or 3.7/4.0

 

These are minimum requirements and do not automatically guarantee entry. Please refer to the individual course page for additional entry requirements i.e. portfolios, work experience, technical certification.

 

Colleges Ontario

 

CIT is proud to participate in the agreement between the Technical Higher Education Association (THEA) and Colleges Ontario.

This agreement allows students which have completed Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas (equivalent to Level 6 and 7 of the Irish National Framework of Qualifications) in Ontario to enter Irish institutions in year 3 or 4 of Bachelor's Degree and Bachelor's Honours Degree courses.
